Luis Barriga
Short Bio
Luis is Principal Researcher and team leader of the Security Analytics group that conducts applied research in machine learning (ML) for telecom use cases related to botnet detection, Telco fraud, misbehaving IoT devices, adversarial ML and confidential computing. Luis holds a PhD in Computer Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, and an MSc. in Computer Science from St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, Russia. He joined Ericsson in 1997 and has held positions in research, standardization, development, innovation, business development and customer projects. Previous experience includes work in a start-up company, designing solutions for global e-invoicing compliance in the cloud.
Luis is Ericsson’s delegate in CONCORDIA where his main focus is to participate in the Telco working group, where together with delegates from communication service providers Telenor, Telecom Italia and Telefónica, jointly design and develop a Telco pilot showcasing the latest Threat Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies for IoT security, automated threat analysis and privacy preservation.
